“Holy fuck.” I was sitting on Leo’s couch watching some random movie, and the jerk from earlier came on the screen. I’d almost choked on my lo mein when I’d seen him.
That was why he seemed so familiar. He was Ryan Sterling, famous actor. I’d seen him in so many movies and magazines. He must have been working with Leo.
I scrunched up my face. Ryan was a real ass, nothing like he was on interviews. He seemed like the nicest person. I guess that just goes to show you that people aren’t what they appear to be.
My phone rang and I smiled when I saw Leo’s name light up. I answered with a cheerful, “Hey.” He groaned in response. “Something wrong?” I asked.
“A lot is wrong, really,” he sighed. “I’m probably spending the night at the office. Feel free to stay at my place if you want, on the off chance that I make it back.”
I knew his job was tough and he put his entire heart and soul into it, but hearing him say he wasn’t coming home tonight made me upset.
“Oh. Okay,” I mumbled. “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow. Maybe.”
“Danny, please don’t do this,” he begged.
“Don’t do what?” I asked.
“I can tell that you’re mad,” he said.
I huffed. “Well, yeah, I’m mad, but I know this is your job.”
“You know I’m only doing this because I absolutely have to. I’d much rather prefer to be there with you.”
“I know. Just…make sure you eat and call me first thing in the morning.” I know I sounded kind of needy, but I’d waited 20 years for this relationship. I wanted to catch up on every moment we’d missed.
“I promise,” he sighed. I could tell that he was smiling at my behavior. “I love you, darling.”
I blushed at his nickname for me. “I-I love you, too.”
We exchanged goodbyes and hung up. I stared at the tv and the movie star that pissed me off, and wondered if I should have asked Leo about him. He probably wouldn’t have told me anything, since it seemed that he was as annoyed by Ryan as I was. However, I was curious as to how Leo knew someone as big a star as him. Most likely through the job, but still, it was weird.
A knock on the door startled me out of my thoughts. Since Leo was still at work, I assumed Lucia was too, so I had no idea who was showing up at 8pm on a Tuesday night.
“Hey there, kitten.”
Oh, shit. I stared as Ryan sauntered pass me, kicked off his shoes, and sat in the spot I previously occupied. He picked up my container of food and looked in it.
“Great. My favorite,” he smiled.
I closed the door, anticipating that I would be yelling at him sometime soon. I was loud enough with the door closed. I didn’t need to wake up the entire building.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I asked, trying to stay calm.
“Harper’s stuck at the office, so I figured you’d might be lonely. I got the address from Luci’s phone,” he answered, starting to eat my food. “And, let’s face it, I make some pretty great company.”
I snatched the container from his hand and glared at him. “I’m not lonely.”
He stretched and put his feet on the table. “Fine, then. I was lonely.”
“I’m sure there are plenty of other women who’d loved to keep you entertained,” I scoffed.
“Like her?” he asked, pointing to the image on the tv of him French kissing a gorgeous, half-naked redhead. I blushed a little at getting caught, and he smiled. “Too bad she’s not my type.”
I escaped to the kitchen, while saying, “I’m sure you could manage.”
He laughed at my comment so hard, that I heard him fall of the couch. He was a full-on jackass, and, from what I could tell, he knew it. That was the kind of guy that pissed me off the most. I didn’t care that he was famous. I’d drag his ass downstairs and literally kick him to the curb. I was so caught up in my internal rant, I hadn’t heard him come into the kitchen.
“So, what’s your deal?” he asked from the entryway.
I jumped at his voice, and turned to look at him. “My deal?”
He smiled again. “From the severely boring look of this apartment, I know you don’t live here, which means it’s Harper’s place.”
“You two are really that serious that you’d just hang out at his place while he’s not here? Is your place on the other side of town or something?”
“Yes, we are that serious and why would it matter. My place is just next door anyway.” I caught myself too late, as he raised his eyebrow hearing me share where I lived.
“Next door? In the next building? That’s weird.”
I turned away from him and stayed silent, which I realized was a mistake when he said, “Or did you mean next door as in the next apartment next door?” I shut my eyes, wishing that he would stop. “You live the in next apartment?!” he laughed. “Seriously? And I bet you spend all your time over here, too.”
“You need to leave,” I said, somehow feeling embarrassed by his accusation.
“No way, kitten. I like you too much to leave you here all alone.”
“I’m fine, and I won’t be alone if I call Leo and let him know you’re here.”
“But you can’t.”
“And why can’t I?”
I heard him laugh again, so I turned to see what was so amusing to him. “Because I have your phone,” he said, waving my phone in the air.
“When the hell did you take it?” I felt in my pockets, refusing to believe his statement.
“You left it on the table,” he smiled. “Too bad.”
“Give it back,” I commanded.
“No thanks,” he said turning away. “I’m good.” He started walking back to the living room and I quickly followed him.
I went to snatch my phone from his hand and he moved it over his head. “Oops. Too slow,” he teased, which just served to piss me off and go after it again. He continued to hold it out of my reach, while he chuckled at my sad attempts.
“You’re quite the stubborn one,” he said.
“I prefer determined,” I replied, resorting to use his body as a ladder.
“Too bad for you, so am I.” He wrapped his free arm around my middle and held me close.
“Let me go,” I growled trying to push him away.
“Naughty kitten. You’re toying with me. Any gentleman would have stopped this the moment you pressed up against him.” He narrowed his eyes, and I shivered at the sinister look he took on. “However, I’m not a gentleman.”
He slipped my phone in my pocket, then held my face. “And just in case you were wondering, you are my type.” He forcefully kissed me, with his tongue violating my mouth. My scotch that I’d been nursing all night chose that exact moment to kick in, so instead of pulling away, I reciprocated his affection…and it felt fucking great.
I didn’t know if it was because he was an actor or what, but that kiss seemed like the best thing in the world, and I never wanted it to stop, so of course it did.
He smiled against my lips before pulling back. “I thought you wanted me to leave?”
“I do,” I whispered, with my eyes closed, still reeling from the kiss.
“It didn’t feel like it,” he grinned.
“You need to go,” I muttered.
“Speak up, kitten,” he breathed on my eyelids. “I couldn’t hear you.” His hand stroking my cheek slid to my neck, and I bit my lip.
How could this man, this stranger, make me feel completely helpless in a matter of moments? I’d been ready to rip him to pieces for barging in and ruining my night. Now I wanted him to rip me to pieces…in my boyfriend’s bed.
“What do you want?” he slowly asked. I opened my eyes and saw the sultry way he stared at me. He caught my eyes and I noticed his flickering with anticipation. Bullshit about not being a gentleman. He was waiting for permission to fuck me…and I so desperately wanted to give it to him.
I reached up and pulled his face back to mine, and kissed him with everything I had. I quickly pulled back as I noticed he hadn’t moved, and I whimpered, “I want you.”
At my words, he kissed me and began expertly moving his hands over my body. Never had anyone made me feel so sexy in a hoodie and sweatpants, but I felt that to him it wouldn’t matter what I was wearing, just as long as he was the one taking them off me.
“Bed?” he asked.
“Down the hall. Second door on the right,” I answered.
He lifted me and quickly walked to Leo’s room. I opened the door for him and he carried me inside. He sat me on the bed and watched as I rushed to unbutton his shirt.
I paused after I opened it to stare at the beautifully chiseled abs before me. I had seen him shirtless on the tv just minutes ago, but seeing them in person was a completely different experience.
“You just gonna stare or are we actually gonna do something?” he huffed.
I glanced at his face and saw the longing he was trying to hold back. Sliding further back on the bed, I gave him a look daring him to make a move. He grinned and finished removing his shirt, then focused on removing mine. He pulled my hoodie over my head and tossed it on the floor.
I heard him whisper, “Damn,” and I turned red. He quickly pulled my pants off, causing me to fall on my back. He leaned over me, keeping me from moving. We stared at each other and he whispered, “I’ll make sure you’re nice and sore in the morning.”
I don’t know what came over me because I gave him a small smile and said, “You better.”
He chuckled and stood. I watched as he undid his belt and removed his pants. My chest ached at the sight. “No underwear?” I choked out.
He smirked. “I figured you’d hate any extra, unnecessary clothing.” He nodded at me. “What’s your excuse?”
I shrugged. “Never when I’m home.”
“Good to know.”
He tossed his pants off to the side while I continued staring at him.
“You like?” he asked, clearly proud of himself.
“I’ve seen better,” I tried to joke, but honestly, I hadn’t and he knew it.
He laughed while reestablishing his position over me. “I’m sure you have.”
I smiled at the perfect man above me and felt my body tingle with excitement. There was no way I wasn’t going to regret this in the morning, but in the moment, I didn’t care. I just desperately wanted this man inside me.
I woke up to the loud ringing of my phone and the even louder pounding of my head. My hangover hit me hard as I opened my eyes and was blinded by the sun shining through the curtains.
I felt something warm across my back and rolled over to find myself face to face with my horrible mistake from last night, with his arm draped across me. Granted it was a beautiful, peaceful, sleeping face…but it wasn’t Leo’s, so it had no business being so close to me.
My phone continued ringing and I was confused, considering I wasn’t scheduled to work, until I remembered my phone call with Leo from before.
Fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck!
