Ballad Without Love

There was a girl
Her name was Rose
She was happy and carefree
Young and beautiful I suppose
But alas, dear world, she was a girl that didn’t know love’s face.

‘Stupid girl, you’re not worth my time.
You are such a big mistake.
Can’t you do anything right?
Get out of my house and disappear!’ her mom spake.
‘Goodbye, my mother, for I’m just a girl that doesn’t know love’s face.’

She went out and wandered the streets
A couple she did run into.
‘Mind your path, worthless girl.
The sidewalk isn’t just for you!’
‘I’m sorry, young lovers, for I’m just a girl that doesn’t know love’s face.

Rose made her way to a rooftop
Looked down at the street
And on the edge of the balcony
She planted her feet.
‘Forgive me, sweet world, for being the girl who didn’t know love’s face.’

With her bright blue eyes
Her hair blowing in the wind
Rose took one last step
She took the path to her end
That rainy night, down went the girl who didn’t know love’s face.

From the ground we watched her fall
She didn’t scream, she didn’t cry
She simply spread her wings
And believed she couldn’t fly.
Oh cruel world, why did you get rid of the girl didn’t know love’s face.

That poor girl did suffer
I feel pained that she didn’t know
That innocent, sweet girl
How I loved her so
I’m sorry for not saving the girl who didn’t know love’s face.
